NOVEMBER PTO COFFEE/TEA MEETING: Friday, Nov. 13th 8:15 a.m.-9:00 am in Cafeteria
The PTO will be hosting a morning social coffee/tea in the Brackett cafeteria on Friday morning, November 13th from 8:15 a.m.-9:00 a.m. This meeting will be a meet and greet style and we hope you can stop by early, even 5 minutes to just say hello and meet new friends. The PTO currently does not have Co-Presidents and a few parents are helping in the interim to keep things running smoothly. We are so fortunate that our PTO has a committee based structure and those volunteers are dedicated and working hard behind the scenes to bring you monthly events.

THE BRACKETT BOOK FAIR IS COMING!
Nov. 16 – Nov. 20 during your child’s Library time
Thursday, Nov. 19, 5:30-8pm is Shopping Night for Families
FOUR WAYS YOU CAN HELP!
(1) HELP MAKE YOUR CHILD’S SHOPPING TIME FUN AND EASY
During that week, your child will have the opportunity to purchase books during his/her normally scheduled Library time. Parents are welcome to join their children for book fair shopping during library time, but there will also be lots of adult volunteers to help your child select and pay for books. For parents who are new to this, students can buy books, bookmarks, pencils, games and other items during their visit to the Book Fair (their normal library time). Be sure to send in money if your child is permitted to buy items at the Book Fair, and best to talk to him/her about how books should be their first priority to purchase. Teachers will also have "wish bags" full of books that they would love for their classroom. Most kids and families love to buy books for a special teacher so look out for that option too!
(2) COME SHOP ON THURSDAY NIGHT!
There will be a shopping night for families on Thursday November 19 from 5:30-8pm. Come on in, meet your neighbors, and get an early start on your holiday shopping! There will be lots of great books to choose from, including many books for adults.
(3) VOLUNTEER FOR THE BOOK FAIR! IT’S FUN AND EASY!
Volunteers are needed to help kids select books and generally keep order during the fair (not to mention counting out dimes, nickels and pennies from tiny kid wallets and change purses!). We need volunteers for the early morning book delivery on Monday, during the school day the week of Nov. 16-20, for the shopping night on Thursday, Nov. 19 from 5:30-8pm and on Friday after school to help load the books back into the truck. It's a fun event and easy volunteering. If you are interested in helping, please sign up via the Sign-Up Genius in the link below. Contact Deb DosSantos (deborah_dossantos@yahoo.com) or Christie Getto Young (gettoyoung@comcast.net) if you have any questions.

(4) SHOP ONLINE STARTING NOW!
- Visit www.bookendswinchester.com and click on the Picture of the Little Red Schoolhouse in the left upper corner.
- Add YOUR contact information and put the School Name, Student's Name and Grade in the Comments box at checkout. Also note if the book is a gift for a teacher.
- After you click Checkout, make sure you choose "Book Fair' so that you are not charged for shipping. All orders are delivered to the SCHOOL for your child to take home.
The Book Fair supports Brackett’s library and the PTO.
We look forward to seeing you at the Book Fair!

Library Shelving Volunteers Needed - THIS SUNDAY 11/15
The Brackett Library is in need of many hands to help organize and clean the shelves, which will make our wonderful collection of books easier to find and put away. Please join the Friends of Brackett Library on the afternoon of Sunday, November 15, anytime from 12-4 to help us organize the books on the shelves, clean shelves, and put away books in the correct places! This will be an open house style event, so if you can stop by for even a short time it will be helpful.
If you can make it for any amount of time on Sunday, please add your name to the signup. This will give us a sense of how many cleaning supplies (and snacks!) we should bring. Thank you!
