Thank You for Making the Thanksgiving Food Drive Success!

The Arlington Community once again worked together to put food on the Thanksgiving tables of approximately 150 local families.  During the month of November, the Board of Youth Services coordinated the Annual Thanksgiving Food Drive to support families and households that may need a little extra help at Thanksgiving.  This year, the Board of Youth Services collaborated with the Arlington Food Pantry, Food Link Inc. and Arlington Eats, organizations that team up throughout the year to support families.

It ran like clock work as families from the Sunshine Nursery School, Bishop, Brackett, Dallin, Hardy, Stratton and Thompson Elementary Schools and the Ottoson Middle School were incredibly generous with their donations.   Food and gift cards to local grocery stores were collected with the help of the PTO’s from each school.  The Calvary Church and the First Baptist Church also made generous donations, as did many individual community members.

Along with traditional Thanksgiving fixings, fresh produce was distributed this year thanks primarily to the efforts of Food Link, Inc. In addition, each family received a gift card to a local grocery store, which will allow them to buy a turkey or other foods that are part of their family's tradition.

Thank you Brackett Elementary School families for your help in making the Food Drive a success! Happy Thanksgiving to all!
