The Great Pumpkin Rescue Tomorrow (Friday, 11/3, 7:45-8:20am only)

In collaboration with Black Earth Compost (which collects our lunchroom food waste every week), the Brackett Green Team will help rescue pumpkins from getting thrown away after Halloween.
Pumpkins are not allowed in yard waste and we can save the town money and energy by not sending them to the incinerator but instead putting them to good use as compost to grow food and flowers! Please bring your pumpkins to Brackett this Friday between 7:45am-8:20am. There is no fee for this collection!
For more information about the Brackett Green Team, please contact GIG (Green Initiatives Group) co-chairs:
Rachel Oliveri (rachelboliveri@gmail.com) and Hilary Graham (hilgraham@aol.com).

Please Donate your Coats for Kids (and Adults)!
This year, sponsored by the 5th grade classes!
We're continuing a 20-plus-year tradition of community service at Brackett by once again supporting Coats for Kids — collecting gently used winter coats for kids and adults throughout Massachusetts. Between now and January 7, please donate your too-small or unused coats by placing them in the bins in the Brackett lobby. We'll deliver them to Anton's Cleaners, which cleans the coats and coordinates the distribution to needy families.
Thank you!! (And please note: No sweatshirts, vests, spring coats, or broken zippers!) Contact Bari Walsh bariwalsh@gmail.com with questions.

Picture Retake Day is Monday, November 13th!
Parents, if you would like to have your child's individual school picture retaken, picture retake day is Monday, November 13th.
To have your child/ren's picture retaken, please send the original purchased photos into school with your child that day (you may keep the class photo). Please include a note with the returned pictures specifying what changes you hope to see in the retaken picture. It would be good to also send a note to your child's teacher so they are aware they will need to step away for retakes. Thank you!

Tonight, Community Dance Night!
Come join us tonight, 6:30- 8:30pm at Arlington High School. Dance, sing, and create community, all in the space of one short evening. Join us—alone, or with family or friends—and transport yourself to cultures far away.
We’ll try contra dancing from New England and French Canada, plus international folk dancing from places as far-flung as Eastern Europe, the Middle East, Tahiti, and Africa. Escape into a world of dance as others around the world have done for years, decades, and sometimes centuries. The nature of this dance is traditional, participatory and intergenerational. If you can get yourself to Arlington High School, we can get you dancing and laughing! For ages 8+, entry fee is $10 at the door.
