Are you wondering what your PTO is all about?  Keep reading below about all the exciting things we do every day!
 
“Brackett PTO”
Definition:: noun; an amazing collection of parents, teachers and staff collaborating to make their children’s elementary school a positive learning environment and a special place to grow.

PTO TOP 10
(things we do best!)
 
1.  Cultural Enrichment: support school assemblies and grade specific performances which enhance the curriculum; i.e.. author visits, musicians, artists, etc.
 
2. Science and Math Enrichment: support in school math and science programs with hands on activities. Also sponsor science fair, math night, and star and bottle rocket nights at Robbins Farm.
 
3. Visual Arts Enrichment: sponsor monthly after school art classes and community art show.
 
4. Library Enrichment: fulfill library needs and purchase new books and series.
 
5. Field Trips: defray entrance fees and bus expenses for all grades
 
6Community: Green Initiatives Group, Arlington food pantry collections, holiday helper program, annual coat drive.
 
7. Teacher luncheons and stipends: sponsor 3 teacher luncheons and defray teacher’s personal expenses each Fall for classroom supplies and learning tools.
 
8School Investments:purchase special classroom carpets, risers for musical performances, text books, smart carts, microphone system, emergency defibrillator, sports equipment, etc. 
 
9. Social Events: sponsor June fair, ice cream social night, ice skating party, 3rd grade colonial days, 5th grade graduation, movie night and more.
 
10. Scholarships and Parent Forums: award female and male Brackett alum graduating from AHS, $500 each and contribute $300 annually to Arlington Parent Forums.
