Upcoming Arlington Education Foundation Events
 
The Arlington Education Foundation would like to invite you to two exciting events:
 
  • Celebrate Super Pi Day and Technology in our Schools – March 14
March 14 is Super Pi Day (3.1415).  Join AEF to celebrate this unique day, eat pie, and toast technology in Arlington schools.  Meet fellow Pi enthusiasts.  Learn about AEF’s efforts to fund mobile science workstations, computer science and engineering labs and a digital arts studio.  See student demonstrations.  Complimentary pie.  Cash bar.  3-5pm, Common Ground. 
  • Annual Arlington Trivia Bee – March 22
Do you like trivia and game shows?  Do you like to laugh?  Do you wonder if you are smarter than a 5th grader?  Come cheer on over 20 (adult) teams as they test their wit and wisdom.  Fun for all ages – there will be design challenges and activities for kids too!  FREE.  3-5pm, Town Hall.

Congratulations to the Brackett Green Team!
 
The Brackett Green Team received a $25 gift certificate to the Book Rack for their entry in the Arlington EcoFest Trashformations student exhibit this past Saturday!
 
If you have any suggestions for books with Green Team themes (e.g., renewable energy, school gardening, composting, waste-reduction, etc) that our children might enjoy, please let me know.
 
Thanks to the children and parents who worked on the Brackett Green Team windmill farm and to those who volunteered at EcoFest to share info about our school garden plans!
 
Mark your calendars for our next Green Team program on Friday, March 27th from 2:30-3:30pm in the art room. Program details coming soon...
 
Photos needed for 5th Grade Yearbook and Slideshow!
Hello 5th Grade parents,

If you've seen yearbooks in the past, you know that each child has their own section that includes some questions and two photos. 

In the next few weeks, we'll give you specific details on where to send your photos. For now, please start looking for a 5th grade picture of your child alone, should be a good face shot. Also, be on the look out for an age 0-5 year old picture. This photo can be candid, but should be a good face shot as well.

Slideshow pictures are also needed. Look for a few pictures of your child at school, individually or in groups. Any small or large group pictures taken at school or school events (Colonial Days, Science Camp, etc).

As an added safety measure you will always receive an automated call from Arlington Public Schools whenever your child is marked absent reminding you to call Safe Arrival.
