May 1st - International Walk to School Day

On Wednesday, May 1, join kids and families around the globe for International Walk to School Day. While this will be a celebration of the return of Spring and the opportunity to enjoy our great neighborhoods with the company of our friends, we also want to recognize the losses that took place on April 15. To counter the loss and pain, and to show that we remain an active and vibrant community that stands together to help those that were hurt we encourage donations to The One Fund, http://onefundboston.org/. Please donate via the link or have children drop off donations at Brackett on May 1. Even if the donations are only $1, together we can make a difference.

Though this is a one day event we hope to encourage walking to school everyday possible. Of course walking is not practical or possible for every family, but even if you drive your child to school, please think about parking several blocks away to reduce traffic congestion and provide a short breath of fresh air.
For more info on the Brackett Safe Routes to Schools program or to help out on the morning of Weds May 1, contact Mustafa Varoglu (617) 852-4804 or Sarah Huggenberger via srts.brackett@gmail.com .
