We will be putting these things in paint!).  Meeting at 2:45pm around the flag pole.

The last Art Day for the school year will be on Monday, June 5th. Stay tuned for more details, and thank you for all of our creative students and helpers who made this year extra colorful!

NOTE: Art Days are open to everyone at Brackett.  Younger students should be accompanied by a parent or care giver.  We are not a drop-off program, instead students are free to come and go as they finish their projects.  If your student is in BASP, please contact them about how your child can attend Art Days this year.  If you have any questions or are interested the PTO Art Squad, please let us know!

Arlington Eats Snack-Pack Food Drive due Tuesday, 5/23

Brackett is joining with Arlington Eats to make snack packs for the elemantary schools. We are asking each grade to provide a snack as follows via the donation bin in the lobby:

First Graders are Hatching Great Ideas!

Each year the STEM committee arranges to hatch chicks in the 1st grade classrooms by providing eggs in incubators (arrived Monday 5/15) and allowing the students to study the eggs' development in class until they hatch around 5/21.  Thank you to our Brackett STEM committee for this great hands-on learning.  We have heard that the students have given great names to the chicks for each classroom!

Third Graders' Colonial Day, Friday, 6/9

Thank you for the wonderful contributions of Parents, Teachers and Community to enriching the learning of our students.  Next month Brackett will transform for the day allowing a hands-on experience for 3rd Graders featuring: a One-Room School House; Hand-Dipped Candles; Butter Churning; Colonial Dances; A Field Day and more!

As Kathleen Bodie's email mentioned, this "Colonial Day", students will be given the option of wearing a colonial costume, but will not be required to do so.  Students are also welcome to dress in a manner that represents their culture and heritage.

The Third Grade parents are hard at work to bring this hands-on experience to life.  Please visit our sign-up to help, and we look forward to a great day of learning and fun!
