Tomorrow, Thursday, May 21st, will be SPORTS DAY at Brackett.
Students can wear a tee shirt from any of their favorite teams - - Arlington Soccer - Red Sox - Bruins - Celtics - Patriots - High School or College.
This event is being held to support Nathan, a current Brackett kindergarten student, who has been fighting a brain tumor for the past two years. Nathan will be participating in an event hosted by A Kids' Brain Tumor Cure.
Please help raise awareness and support TEAM NATHAN by donating $2.00 (suggested amount for the number of years he has been battling cancer) and wearing a favorite team sports shirt to school tomorrow.
Donations can be turned into your child/children's home-room teacher. CASH or check made out to Geared Up For Kids - Team Nathan are accepted.
A yellow flyer went out in backpacks today with more information about Nathan and A Kids' Brain Tumor Cure PLGA Foundation.

The Chicks are Coming! Available for adoption on May 23rd.
Brackett 1st graders are excited to announce that the annual chick hatching is under way in their classrooms. Parent volunteers Naren Pathak, Karen O'Hagan, Nicole Weber, and Karen Gold visited the classrooms recently to help the kids "candle" the eggs, i.e., use a focused light source to actually see the chick embryos inside the eggs. It's looking like about 2 dozen of the eggs are viable and will produce baby chicks sometime soon. Anyone who is interested in adopting a chick as a pet for home, please contact Naren Pathak atnpathak48@gmail.com (they will be available for adoption on Sat 5/23). If you want to learn more about what is involved in having backyard chickens, contact Janet Westerhoff at jbwesty@gmail.com

BRACKETT BANK END OF YEAR INFORMATION
As the closing of the school year is right around the corner, please note that Brackett Bank will be open through Friday, May 29. Student savings accounts will remain open but not accessible during the summer months. Students will be able access their accounts when the bank resumes operations in the following school year. Please note that accounts will remain same in subsequent school years and there is no need to close and re-open a new account each year.
The Brackett Bank team will be closing 5th grade student accounts in June. Closing proceeds will be provided in cash for balances under $20. Balances over $20 will be given in the form of a check. Brackett Bank team representatives will be visiting 5th grade classes in June to perform the closing process for students who currently have accounts.
If you any questions about the bank, please contact Patty Chookhae-Kragh at 781-316-0125 or brackettbank@gmail.com.
