Volunteer at the June Fair! - Saturday, June 14th 10-2pm

If you haven't had the chance to volunteer for an event this year and would like to help out, here's your chance! The annual Brackett School June Fair is coming up on Saturday, June 14th and is the largest fundraiser of the year for the PTO. This event requires a tremendous amount of man, woman and kid power to pull off. We know this is a really busy time of year and finding a spare hour on the weekend is tough. We really appreciate any time you can give to this wonderful community event.
Thank you so much!

2014-2016 School Council Parent Representative Election
Our three candidates for the 2014-2016 School Council Parent Representative position are Danuta ForbesBrett Fuhrman, and Charlie Toulmin.  Look for their information on ballots coming home in backpacks early next week.  Completed ballots can be left in the ballot box in the school office between the dates of Wednesday, June 4th and Wednesday, June 11th
School Council members meet once a month after school to discuss issues of policy, procedure, and improvement for our school. The School Council is made up of the principal and voluntary teacher, parent, PTO, and community representatives. The School Council is a separate entity from the PTO.

Under Massachusetts state law, school councils assist principals in these four primary areas:
  1. Adopting educational goals for the school that are consistent with local educational policies and statewide student performance standards
  2. Identifying the educational needs of students attending the school
  3. Reviewing the annual school building budget
  4. Formulating a school improvement plan
