May 4th-May 8th is Teacher Appreciation Week!

This is a week when parents and our children celebrate their teacher in kind, thoughtful ways. New for this year, the PTO has planned an Oscar-themed week to celebrate Brackett teachers and paraprofessionals. This is possible because of your generous donations to the Brackett annual fund. Thank you!

Sunday/Monday – Red Carpet Welcome

We are inviting families to come decorate the school sidewalks with chalk stars and messages for teachers. We will also create a simple “red carpet” entrance to kick off the week in a fun, celebratory way. Join us from 4-6 PM at Brackett on Sunday, May 3rd, and then 7:30-8 AM on Monday, May 4th (weather permitting).

Tuesday – Candy Gram Day

Students can create candy grams and popcorn-themed notes (e.g., “Thanks for making learning POP!”), and the PTO will help supply candy/popcorn for distribution. This will be coordinated by the PTO and Student Council.

Wednesday – VIP Lunch

The PTO will host an Oscar-themed lunch for teachers and staff from Pressed.

Thursday – Hollywood Walk of Fame

We’ll create personalized “stars” for each teacher to display on classroom doors or in the hallways. These can include fun superlatives or appreciation notes and would be something teachers can keep. Stay tuned for potential room rep/parent volunteer needs.

Friday – Finale Breakfast Bar and Class Gift Day

The PTO will provide coffee, bagels, and donuts in the staff room with some light Oscars-themed décor to wrap up the week.

Your classroom Room Rep will coordinate a “movie night” gift or small token of appreciation.

Parents: Please ask your child to create a card or thank you note for your teacher. Feel free to bring in their favorite treat (optional).

Thank you all for helping us celebrate the teachers and paraprofessionals this week!
